Proverbs 31:10-28
English Bibles call this woman that is written about as a woman of noble character or a virtuous woman. The Hebrew word describing her can be translated as; a fine woman, a woman of strength, wealth or ability. In looking at her characteristics she is on one hand unique, but on the other a woman with characteristics that all Godly women can strive to have.
#1 - A Woman of Godly Character – vv. 10-12
Ruth 3:11 – Ruth was a woman of noble character
Pro. 12:4 – A woman of noble character is her husband’s crown
Pro. 18:22 – He who finds a wife finds a good thing and receives favor from the Lord
#2 - A Woman Who Does Good – vv. 13-16
Tit. 2:3-5 – she is busy at home
1 Tim. 2:9-10 – clothed with good deeds
v. 11 – Her husband has full confidence in her – she is in right relationship with him – Eph. 5:22
v. 12 – She brings him good, not harm – she is a helper suitable for her husband – Gen. 2:18-20
v. 15 – She gets up while it is still dark – she is self sacrificing and prompted by love – 1 Cor. 13:4-8
Winston is writing a narrative history of Herald of Faith and will be heading to Argentina in July. His son, Phillip is engaged to a wonderful girl named Vanessa and they plan to be wed in Oct. So, Winston needs our prayers!
Rod and Christine are recovering from their daughter's wedding and making plans to go to Nicaragua in July. God bless them and keep them. It will be hot, hot, hot, please pray for health in the hot weather and effective ministry to the hearts of the people.
