It is a joy for me to sit down to write some lines to you again.
In the month of June I went to the northern part of this Province of Bohuslän (close to Norway) twice. Two of those meetings were held in the Ingrid Bergman´s Park by the harbor. We usually reach quite a few people in those meetings. This is a good possibility to evangelize.
Plans, purpose, and destiny, hallmark terms used in conjunction with one’s search for significance. Who am I? Why did God create me? What is the ultimate reason God placed me here upon the earth? What is my assignment? We often have more questions than answers, especially as new Christians. While this treasure of truth may appear to be hidden, it is only hidden for a season. The season will pass, and the truth will be revealed, to those who search for it with diligence.
This week is our time of departure to Belize Central America for a three week mission trip. There is more detail about the trip below. We cherish your prayers as we prepare to go, and as we minister in Belize from June 20th thru July 10th. We fly out of Killeen, TX June 20th. Until then, we have a busy four days of taking care of details here and final packing. Thanks to all those who have supported Refuge CMI financially and in prayer.
Each year about this time I have the privilege of leading and speaking at a number of graduations. This year, I have spoken at both High Schools and Colleges; some connected with Vision and some other schools. In each case, I consider it a tremendous honor to share thoughts for graduates that I pray will impact their life for now and the future.
This year my text for graduations is from Joshua 3:1-5 which states;
First I have to say that the Convention we planned some weeks ago apr. 70 miles from here was canceled, because we weren´t permitted to rent the Church Hall we were supposed to rent. I was then invited to preach in a Church here on the West Coast and it was a blessing. We felt the presence of God. The night before I participated in a meeting here on my island and another brother preached.
AGIF members from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex met together on April 25 in Mesquite Texas. AGIF President Steve Ekeroth joined with them for a time of sharing together and discussing potential plans for an upcoming conference in the Dallas area. It was an opportunity for many of our members to meet one another for the 1st time and there is a strong desire among these and others, who were not able to attend, to join together for regular fellowship.
April has been a very busy month for us with the DMT students heading out on outreach and two Spring Break groups coming to visit at two different locations. I have driven over 4000 miles through Mexico the last six weeks, visiting many of the churches and pastors in the south and setting up the outreach dates ahead of the DMT team's arrival. The ministry in Oaxaca that started on the island is growing as the new Christians from the island go out and evangelize with Lalo and Michelle.
Several months ago I was called by a Pastor With a most urgent request. He had been counseling a very troubled couple regarding their relationship. The couple were both Born Again believers, faithful in their local church, and professed to love each other deeply. Yet their marriage was frequently on the verge of destruction. Using the best available skills and a heart of compassion, the Pastor was able to keep them out of divorce court, but was unable to make significant progress towards a more satisfying relationship. My question to this fine man of God was simple yet most important in diagnosing this Christian couples issues: What was their original agreement or covenant with one another, and where are they now in terms of agreement or covenant in their present relationship?
his month I am celebrating 30 years in the south of Mexico. Before that I had been ministring in the north of Mexico and lived 3 months in California and 3 months in Tijuana, B.C. It was the 1st of April 1985 that I left for Mexico City and thereafter I went to the little town of Matias Romero in the State of Oaxaca. I was invited for a 4 Days Campaign and had bought a flightticket to return north after 10 days.
Approximately 2015 years have come and gone since the miraculous Super Nova explosion event that we know of as the resurrection of the God/man named Jesus Christ of Nazareth took place. The spiritual reality of that calendar-changing, non-duplicable occurrence has rippled down through the corridors of time . . . virtually unaffected by the Hell-driven doubt and unbelief, and the resistant skepticism that has pummeled individual Christians, and even successfully prevailed within Christendom as a whole in various locales around the globe.
